Vocations

As Little Sisters of the Poor, we carry out our mission in response to the call of Christ, who consecrates us through the vows of chastity, poverty, obedience and, our fourth vow, hospitality.

We find our joy in Jesus, whom we discover in prayer and serve in the person of the aged poor. We grow in our love for God through a daily rhythm of prayer and a strong community life.

In continuing the charism of our Mother Jeanne Jugan, we desire that our hospitaller mission of humble service to our elderly brothers and sister be a witness of the compassionate love and mercy of God.

As an international Congregation we are present in 31 countries around the world. Daily we hear Jeanne Jugan reminding us, “Never forget that the poor are Our Lord.” These words of Jeanne Jugan have remained alive through the years. Today, as her daughters, we continue to make them our own.

God has a unique plan for each of our lives. Could He be calling you to give yourself to Him as a Little Sister of the Poor?
